FAQs

  • Great Question! Choosing an officiant should be about trust, connection, and chemistry. Weddings should be fun, not boring, and about you! I will take care of every detail so that you can live in the moment. Plus, few other officiants write your personalized love story. With my experience and care, you can have the ceremony you have always hoped for.

  • Do you trust Uncle Bob and does he have the experience of a professional officiant? Set your mind at ease and let me take care of everything for you.

  • I have a passion for helping people celebrate milestones in their lives. After a long career in education, most recently as a high school principal, I have presided over many graduations, award ceremonies and other formal and informal occasions. People have always said my ease in front of a large crowd and my humor set me apart. Weddings should be fun, and yours will be too.

  • I am a Florida Notary Public, exp 7/2026. The State of Florida allows clergy and Notaries Public to perform weddings. For more information about who can perform weddings in Florida, go to: https://www.myorangeclerk.com/Divisions/Marriages/Marriage-Ceremonies

  • Yes! In fact, I prefer it. You will be asked questions to get to know you so I can draft a ceremony that is reflective of your personalities, beliefs, and relationship. After the draft is complete, it will be shared with you to edit if you wish to do so. I want your ceremony to be just right, and are happy to work with you on the draft until it’s perfect.

  • You must obtain your own marriage license in the State of Florida. There is a 3 day waiting period before you can be married (no waiting period for out-of-state residents) and it expires after 60 days. After it is completed, I will return it to the county from which it was obtained. Remember to bring it to the ceremony!

  • Yes. I will provide a certificate for Notary Public Errors and Omissions Insurance upon request.

  • Rehearsals are absolutely necessary and I make every effort to attend. I can lead your rehearsal for an additional fee.

  • Full payment is due two weeks prior to the ceremony unless other arrangements have been made.

  • I prefer Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.

  • My attire for the ceremony is always appropriate to the formality of the occasion, and I confirm my attire with the couple prior to the ceremony. I always ask the couple what they would prefer. My preference is a black suit with a black tie for more formal weddings. Casual weddings depend on what the couple is wearing. Since I am not a member of the clergy, I do not wear a stole or vestments.

  • That is a generous thought, but completely unnecessary. I like to stay a bit for cocktail hour, if there is one, to mingle with guests. But after that I will make a discreet exit.

  • Approximately 20 minutes. In my experience, ceremonies that last longer than 20 minutes tend to drag and after 30 minutes, we have lost the audience! By that time, they are thinking about the cocktail hour.

  • Yes. An on-time ceremony honors your guests’ time, and my time as your wedding professional. I arrive at least 30 minutes prior and stay after the ceremony to make sure all the details go exactly as planned. A ceremony that begins 30 minutes after the quoted start time, and I am able to accommodate, will incur a $50 late fee due before the ceremony begins.
